Unfortunate demise benefits the foundation
Unfortunately almost seven years ago the largest United Church Basketball Club, St Phillips had to close it's doors.
After a meeting of the members to decide what to do with some retained funds in the clubs accounts, it was decided to donate them to a worthwile charity.
Brett and Tanya met John Pearce, one of the members, for coffee and to their surprise he presented them with a cheque for 1,900. "We're extremely grateful to the St Phillips Basketball Club for thinking of the Hudson Maher Foundation, this money will go a long way to helping another family deal with their child's illness." Tanya said.
