Foundation donates 15K to hospital's education project

The Hudson Maher Foundation has donated 15,000 to the Women's & Childrens Hospital as sponsorship for a new education development project for children and their families coping with bleeding disorders.

Launched early 2005, the project's aim is to provide a comprehensive information resource that can be tailored to each individual patient's disease and treatment regime. Parents will be able to chart their child's progress and, ultimately, participate more confidently in treatment decision-making.

Ongoing patient participation and feedback will be sought, and all information provided will come under regular review by the hospital's Haemotology/Oncology Unit Clinical Practice Committee to ensure it's accuracy.
