Crows v Sixers game a blast!
The annual Crows vs Sixers basketball game was a huge success. With past and present players showcasing their skills for the adoring crowd at the Distinctive Homes Dome.
In the early game the "Old" Crows led by Darren Jarman norrowly lost to the "Old" Sixers. Jarman had a chance to win the game with seconds left but his lay-up rimmed out as the buzzer sounded.
In the main game the sweet shooting of Jarman continued with him sinking a three pointer for the Crows, despite being the referee.
The Crows showed plenty of determination and took control when the oval ball was introduced into the game by Willie Farley, but the Sixers steadied when Phil Smyth activated his secret weapon, Jason Gillespie.
It was his sweet shooting that helped the Sixers draw level. His Redbacks captain Darren Lehmann, showed just how talented he was with a bat in this hand, when he used it to great effect to score for the Crows.
The game ended in a tie, 92 all, but the real winners were the charities supported by the Crows Foundation as the day raised about 10,000.
We'd like to thank all involved in the day, the corporate sponsors Yellow Corporation, Radio 5AA, Newstyle Printing, The Advertiser and the crowd for their contribution.
