Camden footy club raises over 9K for Foundation
The PHOS Camden Football Club "Phantoms" have raised over 9,000 – and shaved more than a few heads in the process! – for the Hudson Maher Foundation at their annual end-of-season charity dinner.
Held on Saturday 12th August 2006, the event had a "Crop a Phantom" theme, with attendees enthusiastically bidding for the right to run a gleaming set of clippers over a team member's "product"-laden coif. A hugely successful silent auction was also held, with an Australian Boomers basketball singlet – worn, donated and signed by Brett Maher – fetching an outstanding 4,000 alone.
Thanks to all who donated, and a very special thankyou to club official Bob Burton for suggesting to his organising committee that the Foundation be the 2006 event's beneficiary.
